About Us
Tipperary Cooperative was established in 1908 in Tipperary town. Situated in the heart of the Golden Vale, we’re located in one of Europe’s most renowned dairy producing regions. As a farmer-owned cooperative, we pride ourselves in our rich heritage and community values. Throughout the years, we have grown steadily in supplier numbers, milk processing capacity and production capabilities. Today, we have over 400 farmers supplying us with premium, grass-fed Irish milk, all situated within a 40km radius of our processing site.
We have a daily milk pool of over 1 million litres, which allows us to produce >70,000 metric tonnes of product annually. We produce a wide range of dairy products and ingredients such as cheese, milk, butter and powdered ingredients. Tipperary is a leading manufacturer of functional dairy ingredients in Europe.

Cooperative Movement & Structure
After experiencing a period of economic struggle, Ireland saw the dairy cooperative movement come into effect in the early to mid 1900s. Following this, a number of local creameries amalgamated to form Tipperary Cooperative, and began operating out of Station Road. Today, Tipperary Cooperative are still farmer owned, operating at the heart of the Tipperary community. We are supplied with premium, grass-fed Irish milk from 400 local farmers. Tipperary Cooperative continue to grow the business alongside the farmer-shareholders.
